These are some of the characters that I have encountered in the past couple weeks.

This amazing gentleman is "Thor". He's an English Mastiff from Arroyo Grande, CA and yes, that is slober.

"Boo Wulf", left, and "Alfred Godwulfsson", right, play a game called "Fox n Geese" during Danish Days in Solvang, CA.

These people are the Neighborhood Watch founders in the Carriage District of Santa Maria, CA.

Ben Wolf, of the Kiowa tribe, came all the way out from Oklahoma to dance in the Chumash Pow-Wow held at the Los Padres National Forest, CA.

This is Taylor Sefert, a Merit Scholar Semifinalist, at Santa Maria High School.

This is Andy Contreras. The Santa Maria Times sent me out to Allan Hancock College to take some shots of him shooting around for a feature they were running on him. He's a local kid with some promising talent. I waited around for an hour before he got there. I thought he was radical for that. I dug the pictures too. Even though I don't think they ran any of these images.

I recently had the opportunity to photograph silver medalist, Kami Craig of the 2008 US Women's Water Polo Team. I got a call from the Santa Ynez Valley News the night before with the assignment and didn't have a location to shoot at. So i just kinda winged it. I tried to get us into a couple pools, which is kind of difficult on a Sunday afternoon. Luckily the pool at the YMCA was open. The only problem was there were people swimming in the pool, which made for a challenging backgrounds, but hey you do what cha gotta do, I guess. Kami was radical, escpecially with the last minute circumstances.

A few weeks ago I headed up to San Francisco, CA, to hang with my friend, Matthew Knudsen, and to shoot some pictures of his band "Index". Matthew Knudsen, Donald Pierotti, Matthew McKee, and Dave Farina, all formerly of Matadon, now make up Index. These pictures were taken over three days at the Tiny Telephone while they were working on their new project with recording engineer, Jay Pellicci. Saxaphone player, Skylar Dunbar, came out to do a session as well. So ya, my weekend pretty much consisted of Coffee, Sounds, Jake Steaks, Beer, Band Tiffs, Challenging lighting situations, being smashed in the back seat of Keeman's pickup, Sake, and Gifts.

Today (well actually yesterday now) I had the opportunity to photograph Richard Weldon, Attorney at Law. He was born and raised in Santa Maria and is going to speak at an event for the Historical Society. So I went over to his law office and took his portrait and he showed me some of his old photographs and an old restored tricycle from the 1930's. I enjoyed taking his picture. He was the type of person who could communicate without having to say to many words. In fact he probably communicates more in a couple words than most people do in an entire lifetime. Cheers to you Mr. Weldon.

This is the Business Man. I met this stylish lookin fellow on the set of a short film (will post more images from the shoot in the near future). The film was titled Pie and Coffee and it was produced by one of my good friends, Johnny Lee. Anyways, the dude in the picture was one of the extras. I dug his watch and sunglasses so i took a quick shot of him and his newspaper while the extras were waiting for their marks.

This Beautiful human being is one of my most favorite people. I had completely forgotten about this shoot until i came across the pictures over a year after they were shot. This shoot took place on my cousins driveway in Fullerton, CA. To give you an idea of how close of friends the model and I are; we actually got into a bit of a fight during the shoot. She is an artistic person herself and you know how it can be when two artistic minds have conflicting ideas. So ya in the middle of the shoot we started arguing. Then almost shouting at each other. My cuz, who was assisting me, was the innocent bystander. Then I guess after we got the fighting out of our systems, we must have worked things out because I really like some of the photographs from that day. Good times with Good Friends.

It was my first time in Los Alamos and the Santa Ynez Valley News had sent me out to get some pictures of the lighting of the Luminaries and some holiday season shots. I was waiting around to go on a hayride and I got this shot out front of the Ghostriders Tavern. Los Alamos is a splendid little town.

So a couple months ago I had the opportunity to hang out with some kick ass chicks. I was shooting a feature on the new Nintendo Wii at the local convalescent home in Santa Maria, Ca. It turned out the game system was all the rage and I met these three lovely ladies in the game room bowling it up on the Wii. The lady in the back wasn't too fond of the camera but was curious about the whole scene. The lady in blue kept flirtin with me and must have been quite the looker in her day. And, well the lady in yellow was radical in her lil Wii world.

Ok, so its been a while since I have posted anything on this blog. I have been busy graduating from school, moving around, dropping out of school, and trying to make this whole photography thing work for me. I have not been able to do much shooting for myself, which has been bad for the soul. So on the fourth of July after covering the Gap Fire in Goleta I came home (Grover Beach) to my neighborhood streets full of people doin the firework thing, legal and illegal. Everyone was out enjoyin themselves, so I grabbed the cam.
